WHAT IS GAP MIAMI: A group of students originated at Miami Dade College who are extending their relations to the community, other colleges, and universities as well.
MAIN PROJECT: EDUCATIONAL DVD ON HUMAN RIGHTS
The project is a documentary that will discuss Human Rights and how developing these rights worldwide can lead to greater peace.
The purpose is teaching Human Rights.
Debut expected on the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2007.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Schools and educational institutions of the world.
INVITING: Government officials, community leaders, Human Rights experts, and any other
interested persons.
PROJECT GUIDELINES:
The idea of the DVD is to present the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as one of the tools to get a peaceful environment where people and institutions show respect for each other and human dignity is re-established or re-enforced.
The objectives are:
1 To make these rights known to the general population specially included students from all over the world.
2 To show another route to peace.
3 To promote tolerance by presenting the rights commented from people of different countries, civilizations, cultures and religions
4 To spread the word of a document that have been written more than 50 years ago and is still unknown
Everybody of all levels is invited to present one right. We suggest to present two or three to give us choice of selection.
We suggest a local filming of the person who will talk about the right which should be sent in AVI format. (Consult with a local video editor or computer knowledgeable person)
Some recording of the voice (MP3) in the original language (if it is not English, with a translation to English at least in writing), or just a written text accompanied by photos (JPG format only, good resolution (High).
The length we have for each right average is two minutes.

Generalidades sobre el proyecto del DVD.
La idea general del DVD es presentar la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos como una de las herramientas para la construcción de la paz, de manera que los individuos e instituciones ejerzan el respeto mutuo en todo momento.
Los objetivos son:
Hacer conocer estos derechos al público en general, especialmente a los estudiantes de cualquier nivel.
Mostrar otra posibilidad de conducta hacia la paz.
Promover la tolerancia a través de presentar en la película gente de diversos países, culturas, civilizaciones y religiones. Todos hablando acerca de lo mismo.
Difundir el conocimiento de este documento que ha sido escrito hace más de 50 años y todavía no se conoce bien.
Toda persona de cualquier nivel esta invitada a enviar materiales relacionados con un derecho. Sugerimos que si pueden trabajen en dos o tres para tener más posibilidades de ser seleccionados para la producción final.
Sugerimos una filmacion local de la persona que va a hablar sobre el derecho, realizada y enviada en formato AVI. (Consulten con una persona que conozca el tema en su localidad)
Alguna grabación de voz en el lenguaje original de la persona, con traducción al ingles de manera escrita. O también un texto escrito en el idioma original siempre que este sea ingles o español que son los idiomas en que podemos grabar aquí.
En estos casos el material debería estar acompañado de fotos que acompañaran las ideas expuestas, las cuales deben estar en formato jpg, de alta resolución.
La duracion del material ya editado debe quedar de no más de dos minutos por derecho.
Podemos editar material aquí si nos mandan las filmaciones, grabación y/ o fotos sin editar.
